Fintech startup well-placed in Singapore pitch challenge
POSTED: 25 March 2019
Tuia Innovation congratulates the team at JRNY, selected from a highly competitive field of Asia-Pacific startups to pitch to a judging panel of prominent venture capital firms at Money 20/20, a global fintech conference in Singapore during March.
JRNY ultimately finished second in a lineup of 15 companies invited to make their pitch, chosen from up to 100 promising startups that the Money 20/20 advisory board identified as having the biggest potential to change the financial world.
CEO Michael Lovegrove was excited about the exposure his software service platform JRNY, which utilises artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance marketing and sales opportunities in the insurance industry, would have at the conference.
"Being accepted as one of the top 15 startups in Asia Pacific is huge. Not only does it mean we’re travelling to Singapore to network amongst some heavy hitting global names, but we actually get to pitch our product and showcase how JRNY’s AI-powered digital brokers are delivering real value to the insurance industry," he said.
"We’re already working with some big names in insurance across New Zealand, Australia and Asia, but we have the opportunity here to further expose the JRNY brand to over 3,500 attendees, and 300 influential speakers.”
Michael says he was personally messaged by both high profile Asian executives and some of the largest Fintech VCs in Europe and Asia on the back of his second placing in the pitching challenge.
Money 20/20 included attendees like Google, Mastercard, Stripe, American Express and Citibank. The StartUP Academy gives each company involved unrivalled exposure to financial leaders and forward-thinking investors, and the chance to share their vision for the future of money.
JRNY’s AI digital assistants are specifically for insurers, brokers or financial institutions selling insurance, and automate the sale and management of insurance policies.
